Cinnamic Acid is a central intermediate in the biosynthesis of myriad natural products include lignolsto lignin and
lignocellulose, flavonoids, isoflavonoids, coumarins, aurones, stilbenes, catechin, and phenylpropanoids. Its biosynthesis is performed by action of the enzyme phenylalanine ammonia-lyase (PAL) on phenylalanine.
